The Construction Begins...

After years of a drought, and now a year or so of constant rain and more roof and window leaks than one family should have to endure, construction started today on fixing our deck and our screened-in porch.  The deck is falling down the hill - so we thought we'd stop that.  The screen-in porch was great in theory, but it stays soaked and is a moldy pit of nastiness.  That being said, the cats love it and will miss it.  We will keep you up to date on our progress through pictures.  And, of course, here are some new shots of Lily. 10 months old this week.

Bathing Beauty

Lily got in the pool (aka the really big, outdoor, freezing cold tub) today for the first time.  At first she really hated it.  There was lots of crying.  As with most things, a little encouragement from her father and she decided she really liked it.  She played in it for a long time.  We are excited to go to the real pool soon.  This was our trial run.

Nightly Garden Time

We haven't posted this week.  I was sick again.  I didn't know adults could run fevers that high.  Here is a picture of Lily going to check out the garden with her daddy.  They do this every night.  We also snapped a picture of the first lily blooming this year.  We have 3 of them so hopefully we will have some better lilies for Lily to take pictures next to.

First Boat Ride

We took Lily out of Boot's pontoon boat today.  It was her first boat ride.  I think she would have liked it, if it had not been for 2 things: the life jacket and the wind.  Infant life jackets are not that comfortable, and she was not digging it.  The ride itself was a little more wind than she had seen before.  We went pretty far, all things considered, before Lily let us know it was time to head back to the dock.  Here's to next time.

9 Months Old Today

Lillian Grace turned 9 months old today.  We were planning on doing a fancy photo shoot, but I am still fairly sick from the cold Lily gave me, so the shoot has been postponed until next weekend.  We went out today and had brunch at Cinco with the Capell's to celebrate Heather's birthday, then to the outlet mall to do a little shopping.  I don't know about the other 2 in these photos, but I am worn out and ready for bed.

Carnival

Today was the McGinnis Woods Spring Carnival.  Lily had many firsts today.  1st train ride, 1st bounce house, 1st horse ride.  You can see in the bounce house picture that she doesn't think there should be any crying in the bounce house.  She was so good on the horse, that we think we may need to sign her up for riding lessons soon.

Morning fun

Lily was in a great mood this morning and wanted to take some photos. Now we just need her daddy to be super awake and happy in the morning too.  Check out the 2 bottom teeth that Lily is sporting.

Last day of shots

Here we are at the dr office minutes before our last round of shots for our ear infection. We won't show you the pictures of seconds after the shots. Dr says we are looking much better. Now we wait 2 weeks and then come back for one more check-up. If that one doesn't go well, we are off to the ENT to get tubes. Keep your fingers crossed.

Faux Hawk

Lily came home from school today with a 3 pony tail faux hawk.  We are assuming this is courtesy of Mrs. Amy.  Our hope is that if Boot goes to beauty school as he promised during our wedding preparations, that Lily will have great hair for many years to come.  We wanted to get some shots of the hairstyle, but then Lily got very excited about the camera flashing, so we just turned it into an all out photo shoot.  So happy Tuesday, and happy Faux Hawk.
