Such a bad dog

Billy is working so hard to make my backyard beautiful before Lily's Princess Birthday celebration.  Well, you can see tonight, when Lily and I went to look at the garden, that Gracie is trying to add her own flair to the yard.  I would rather she not help us out on that front.  As the pictures progress today, I guess Lily has decided a dog's life is not so bad.  She has started to love hanging out in Gracie's bed and is fairly fond of Gracie's bone too.  My little princess will be 11 months old tomorrow.  Such a big girl, and such a bad dog.

Hanging with Ryan

Here's Lily hanging out with Ryan at Zach's birthday party.  We didn't get to stay for cake.  Lily wasn't feeling well, and Billy was tired.  Apparently the tired was my fault. I think maybe we all need to get in some better shape.

Decorating and Landscaping

No construction was done today, so Billy took the day to start landscaping and decorating the new patio.  We have some plants and shrubs we want to put in, but we have been advised to wait until the Fall.  You can see that Gracie is very fond of this new patio.  Now, we are just waiting on Hackie to come over and tell us where to move things - we are sure we put them in the wrong places.

Framing is done

The framing of the sunroom is complete.  Now we wait on the windows and doors to come in.  This is going to be the hard part - no work for a while.  We would have really like to have this time to start moving furniture and decorating - but it is what it is.  As long as everything is done by Lily's birthday party - we will be happy.  Speaking of Lily - the diaper rash from you know where, has seemed to be passing.  I never want to see her cry like that again.

Looking Good

Grass seed is down.  Hay is spread.  Grass prob won't take til fall, but that's ok.  The steps are almost done - don't they look good?  The deck is all set.  Things are really starting to come together.  Ready for work to start on the sunroom.

Week 4

Today marks the beginning of week 4.  The patio is done, so today, the fence got put back together and most of the supports on the deck got poured and set the correct way - that's good since the deck was falling.  This week the new steps on the deck should be finished and the yard work should begin.  We are hopeful the sunroom will get walls this week, so that Gracie can go outside during the days again.

Patio Almost Done

One more day and the flagstone patio should be complete.  Yesterday half of the grouting was done.  Bill, the contractor, will be here today to finish that off.  It took a lot longer than we thought, but we love it.  Billy's favorite part was watching the big rain storm the other night - all the rain now goes into the back yard, and not down the hill under the deck.  Here also are some family pictures of Lily at 10.5 months.
