Such a bad dog

Billy is working so hard to make my backyard beautiful before Lily's Princess Birthday celebration.  Well, you can see tonight, when Lily and I went to look at the garden, that Gracie is trying to add her own flair to the yard.  I would rather she not help us out on that front.  As the pictures progress today, I guess Lily has decided a dog's life is not so bad.  She has started to love hanging out in Gracie's bed and is fairly fond of Gracie's bone too.  My little princess will be 11 months old tomorrow.  Such a big girl, and such a bad dog.

Week 4

Today marks the beginning of week 4.  The patio is done, so today, the fence got put back together and most of the supports on the deck got poured and set the correct way - that's good since the deck was falling.  This week the new steps on the deck should be finished and the yard work should begin.  We are hopeful the sunroom will get walls this week, so that Gracie can go outside during the days again.

Patio Almost Done

One more day and the flagstone patio should be complete.  Yesterday half of the grouting was done.  Bill, the contractor, will be here today to finish that off.  It took a lot longer than we thought, but we love it.  Billy's favorite part was watching the big rain storm the other night - all the rain now goes into the back yard, and not down the hill under the deck.  Here also are some family pictures of Lily at 10.5 months.

1st Father's Day

Today we celebrated Billy's 1st father's day.  It started with Lily giving Billy the presents she made and then we went swimming at the lake.  This was Lily's first time swimming in the lake.  She loved it.  30 minutes in the lake, made for 2 hours worth of afternoon nap.  She had the right idea.  Billy and I are exhausted and sunburnt.

Ali's Birthday

Ali's 38th birthday was Saturday.  Here are a few shots of Lily and Ali celebrating.  We are also celebrating Lily's 3rd tooth which showed up this morning.  The last shots are day 6 of construction.  More flagstone went down.  Takes longer than we thought to put it all in.  It's an art, you know?

Day 5

They started to set the flagstone today and they also started the demo of the screen porch.  We really like how the stone is turning out.  We also really like the fish face that Lily is making.  It is her new favorite thing to do while eating.

First Boat Ride

We took Lily out of Boot's pontoon boat today.  It was her first boat ride.  I think she would have liked it, if it had not been for 2 things: the life jacket and the wind.  Infant life jackets are not that comfortable, and she was not digging it.  The ride itself was a little more wind than she had seen before.  We went pretty far, all things considered, before Lily let us know it was time to head back to the dock.  Here's to next time.

9 Months Old Today

Lillian Grace turned 9 months old today.  We were planning on doing a fancy photo shoot, but I am still fairly sick from the cold Lily gave me, so the shoot has been postponed until next weekend.  We went out today and had brunch at Cinco with the Capell's to celebrate Heather's birthday, then to the outlet mall to do a little shopping.  I don't know about the other 2 in these photos, but I am worn out and ready for bed.
